April Grant Recipients – Michael and David

Congratulations to our April Grant Recipients Michael and David, both boys have Global Developmental Delay, with David showing neurodivergent characteristics and sensory issues.

So when their Mum, Kate O’Connor reached out to us, we just had to help. Kate and her husband have six beautiful children. Three of them have disabilities and are participants on the NDIS. Like for many NDIS participants, swimming lessons are not covered in their budgets.

Many children with Global Developmental Delay, neurodivergent challenges and sensory processing disorders a regular swim school is not appropriate or safe place for them to learn to swim or water safety.

Specialised swim classes are curated specifically for children with disabilities in mind. It takes a trained instructor to know and understand how to teach these unique and sometime very complex kids to swim.

We were very lucky our friends at Rainbow Club Australia offered to discount the term fees for both Michael and David, so The Frankie Foundation was able to bridge the gap and pay the balance.
